The largest private employers in this city are hospitals, service operations and corporate campuses — buildings where somebody is on shift at four in the morning and again at eleven at night. A break room that only works between noon and one is a break room that mostly doesn’t work.

We look at Henderson the way the state’s own employment data does. On the 2026 top-employer list for the city, two Dignity Health St. Rose hospital campuses — Siena and De Lima — sit in the 500–4,999 employee bands, alongside Sunrun, Republic Services and Securitas. That is a workforce built around rotations and coverage, not a nine-to-five.

Nursing stations, imaging suites and labs are the hardest rooms in the valley to feed. Staff there get minutes, not a break, and the cafeteria is closed by the time the shift turns over. A smart cooler on the unit itself is usually the right answer before a market in the main break room is.
Operations centres and corporate floors have the headcount and the footprint for a full market: open shelving, a cooler bank, fresh food and a self-checkout kiosk built into millwork rather than parked against a wall.
Henderson competes on amenities. A market in the clubhouse gets used at eleven at night by a resident who isn’t going to drive anywhere — which is a different value than a gym nobody visits after the first month.

About 100 people on site daily is the practical floor. Below that a market cannot turn its inventory fast enough to keep fresh food fresh, and Skala will say so rather than install one. A campus with several buildings or several tenants can often be counted together.
That is usually the better build. An AI smart cooler is a single wall-standing unit with badge-or-card entry, so it can sit on a floor that a full market never could, and the main break room still gets the market. Both are stocked on the same weekly visit.
